Anything with Melanie Garside in it is generally rather fantastic however I absolutely adore this music video for the song “No Place”. There’s just a gently simplicity and innocence about it that strikes me!

Somewhat a formative band for me when I first found the internet and discovered oversee’s music, Tadpole were a superb Kiwi band. This was their first single “Blind” which is a low budget simple music video but still a good riot!

I love a bit of Eurovision and I voted for this song this year but this song deserves to be this weeks video vault purely for the awesomeness that is the dual piano that was built by a family member for them! I want one!!! This is “Playing with Fire” and I’d happily buy their album.

It seems such a shame Peter Ulrich has never been able to make a real music video, but this beautiful video made by musicaeternal for “Nothing but the Way” is one way of making up for it. I particularly love the opening sea arrival section.

This weeks Video Vault comes from the absolutely fantastic solo artist tUnE-yArDs. This music video from Real Live Flesh is so entertaining yet it looks like she done it in her living room. It’s not surprising that though as she recorded her whole album in her bedroom with the tiniest budget and yet although I’ve only just discovered her, every video I’ve seen makes me want to hear more. Enjoy!

Introducing… HuDost

As Higher Plain Music has a new wave of artists for you this May, we’ve already had EpicNES & The Quiet Revolution, next on the list is HuDost. This amazingly talented lady and her band released Trapeze last year but have only just came onto my radar. It’s rock but with little Persian-esque inflections throughout. Take a look at my favourite song of theirs currently “Trespasser” over on the old faithful ‘Tube!

Video Vault – The Quiet Revolution

The next couple of days will have a smattering of new artists I’ve discovered and we’ll be starting with The Quiet Revolution. A fantastic concept from Israeli songwriter Tal Moore where Tal invites other singer/songwriters to guest sing his own stripped down melodic tunes. The video vault today is “Parallel Me” which guests Hadar Green. It’s fantastic.

I still can’t get enough of Calling All Dawns and have only just realised Baba Yetu has an official music video! Completely computer generated, it’s great to see a visual backdrop placed over this magical song. I still can’t spread enough love about this album!
