Courtney Farren’s music is intimate and chilled out. It’s the kind of music you’d have morning pillow cuddles with because the person you want to wake up to isn’t there. Her voice throughout her debut single “Nothing Like It” barely raises above a murmured speech yet it stays captivating with its minimalist guitar accompaniment. I had seen elsewhere, someone had said Farren reminds them of a stripped down Daughter – and that utterly works for me too.
