Introducing… Evi Vine

Evi Vine is for when you need to go a shade darker

This one is for fans of Emma Ruth Rundle, Chelsea Wolfe and those that love the darkest doom rock. Evi Vine comes from the same ilk – slow paced mammoth power chord or power riff anthems to a wall of guitar noise. Between the loud explosions of guitar come the coiling tendrils of cleverly warped atmospheric verses. Evi Vine has been going since 2011 but her new album, ‘Black White Light Dark’ is due out next month and I have only just stumbled across her music. Evi takes her time to let the guitar really shine and she brings a cinematic flow to her music, often resulting in long atmospheric dirges which let the feelings settle inside you.

The music video for the single ‘Sabbath’ (which features Simon Gallup of The Cure) features a lot of red dye so if your not a fan of bloody substances you may want to look away but the track itself is utterly sublime. ‘Sabbath’ is out now and the album ‘Black White Light Dark’ comes out on the 22nd of February. She’s also supporting Brendan Perry in France later this year too.
