Introducing… AKA George

AKA another banger of a tune

AKA George has a decent story behind his name. After uploading a cover of ‘Get Lucky’ by Daft Punk, he exploded on YouTube and was simply called George Barnett at the time. Also of the same name, was a certain George Ezra who changed his name to Ezra so that the two would stop getting mixed up. George changed his name to AKA George a while later after rejecting the cover that had got him the initial break.

Fast-forward to 2020 and AKA George is building up his fans with original songs that follow a similar disco-rock vibe that makes for great indie-pop. His latest single ‘Bad For Me’ speaks of an addictive but toxic relationship and I think it speaks of AKA George’s time of rejecting and wanting music success – but it needed to be fulfilling. The tracks an absolute riot and although the topic Coronavirus video may divide people, what else are you to do when you’re in self-isolation? As someone else also stuck indoors – I doff my cap to you, sir.

Enjoy ‘Bad For Me’ below. the single is out now and is taken from the forthcoming EP of the same name. That will be released on 10th April.
