Here is one for the creepy ambient fans. Both composers in their own right, Yair Elazar Glotman and Mats Erlandsson have been collaborating since 2015. Their take on sound is an interesting one. They look to diffuse digital and acoustic instruments and sounds together into something that sounds like it could be termed new age but often ends up quite creepy and unsettling. A great example of this is their new single ‘Procession’. It starts off like a twilight soundscape but twists itself into slowly detuning sirens that just won’t quite fit on key.
As a result, the music feels much more at home scoring tense, mysterious or disturbing images filled with dense emotion. Its bass heavy, brassy and threatening to be a guttural explosion. ‘Procession’ comes from Glotman and Erdlandsson’s second album ‘Emanate’. ‘Emanate’ is due for release on the 15th of May but you can hear the single below. By far the best way to enjoy it is with the lights off.
