I came across 5th Projekt as their vocalist Tara Rice has released some great solo material over the years. This band effort alongside Sködt, Peter & Eric mixed together the sedate side of post-rock drones with a singer/songwriter vibe vocally. It means that you can bliss out with the long lingering guitars but also get your emotional vocal fix too.
Their new single, which came out yesterday for Earth Day is called ‘Dark Crystal’. For the band, they say today’s world and the 1982 film share a similar theme. 5th Projekt says that our relationship with Mother Earth is fractured and she has been taken from granted. We need to reunite the broken shards together again and treat her with respect. ‘Dark Crystal’ also comes with a gorgeous music video full of wonderful cinematography of our planet. The single is out now and you can enjoy the video below.
