It isn’t often I feature a classically trained vocalist. I appreciate the skill but it doesn’t usually do much for me. I need drama and dark intrigue to get me on board and that is exactly what we’ve got today. Enter Gabriella Metz and her new single ‘Awake’. She mixes up cinematic elements you’d expect from feature movies having a brooding moment with some superb vocals. Gabriella is an absolute powerhouse as she transitions into increasingly more operatic and dramatic tones over the chorus of the track.
‘Awake’ is taken from her new EP ‘Breaking Infinity’ which I hope contains just as much awesomeness as this track. Yes, that is a technical term. I use it for when I find something cinematic and breathtaking to the point where my blood rushes and I can’t help but want to howl along to the song.
