Introducing… Tender Central

Folk with beats.

Folktronica project Tender Central hails from Devon in the UK and is the latest work from cellist India Bourne. Mixing together folksy instruments with electronica elements, Tender Central evokes some of the same vibes that Lamb and Massive Attack would do if they crossed over with more traditional singer/songwriter tropes. In fact, a lot of the early work from the project reminds me of Lou Rhodes (Lamb) and how she flips between her folksy solo work and the electronica of Lamb.

‘Ashes’ is the new single and it features a collaboration with Matthew and the Atlas on vocals. The duet has a beautiful balance of deep and airy vocals, lush folk guitars and chunky drums. The single is out now and you can listen to it below. At the same time Tender Central has announced ‘The Garden’ – the debut album of the project – is due for release on the 22nd January 2021.
