Sitting somewhere between the witchy edges of Kate Bush and the ethereal faun form of artists like Goldfrapp, Mandalay and Hundred Waters – Realma is a curious find. She mixes dreamy piano, interesting vocal coo’s and off-kilter production to create a cinematic alt-pop swirl. Her new single ‘A Hint of Pink’ came out last week and it took me a few listens to really appreciate everything that was going on. Realma penned it after having a distressing police incident when returning home from studying abroad. She says that the song represents trying to summon creativity in a broken reality.
‘A Hint of Pink’ is Realma’s debut single so we’re getting in early with this artist. There is a ton of promise here and I’m excited to see where it leads. Enjoy the single below.
