Introducing… Franz Kirmann & Roberto Grosso

An AR electronica album that lets the artwork come to life before your eyes.

Days of Being Wild is releasing a collaboration of music and augmented reality art. Composer Franz Kirmann (who composes for BBC TV series such as Locked In and McMafia) has teamed up with artist Roberto Grosso to literally make the album and art come to life in an unusual and fun way. Using the mobile app Artivive, you point your phone’s camera at each tracks artwork and an augmented reality art piece will begin. The idea is to take you into the secret world of the composition. As Franz Kirmann often creates music using lots of different ambient and warped sounds, it offers a great insight into how his creative mind works.

‘Saudade’ is the first track in this AR EP. It was released earlier this month and you can enjoy the track below. However, to enjoy it fully and get Roberto Grosso’s AR art, I strongly recommend downloading the Artivive app too. At a time when art galleries and functions are simply not able to run due to the pandemic, it will also be a great way to experience music and art in a different form to normal.

Franz Kirmann & Roberto Grosso will release their four track EP ‘In Waves’ on the 24th of April. I wonder what other interesting AR art will be waiting for us then?
