goth goth pop Introducing... post-rock shoegaze synth trip hop

Introducing… 1st Base Runner

Gothic trip-hop melting pots - seven years seasoned.

Mixing gothic pop, trip-hop and post-rock together in a night time potion, 1st Base Runner is a fascinating new musical project. It is a creation from Texan Tim Husmann and I am really digging the dusty, dense synth and guitar production. It especially shines on his new single ‘Break Even’ which came out last month. It is the prelude for 1st Base Runner’s debut album ‘Seven Years of Silence’ which is coming out on the 8th of April. I love a bit of shoegazing and as the track gets more chaotic, in come the raging guitars to swamp the gothic trip-hop.

‘Seven Years of Silence’ refers to Tim’s seven year hiatus from music so he could make a hard reset. As he had been involved in many other musical projects, it seemed as if Tim needed to sweep all of that out so that he could make something that was truly his and his alone. Enjoy the single ‘Break Even’ below. I hope it was worth the seven year wait.
