Introducing… Buffalo Daughter

Art rock with exploding topography wireframe meshes!

Japanese art-rockers have been around since at least 1996 but here I am introducing them anyway! They are new to me though and their new single ‘ET (Densha)’ absolutely blew me away. ET stands for electric train and the track twists weird nightclub synths with post-rock vibes too. The track is designed to merge together something that feels like darkness, light, unease and calm in one tangible sound. It is very artsy and follows little traditional song structure. Buffalo Daughter are one for the avant-garde fans!

The music video for ‘ET (Densha)’ is an ever twisting hypnotic wireframe. It transforms into real-world topography and nature shapes but of course, everything is digital. The music and video come together in a strange way that reminds me of the art movie Naqoyqatsi. The single is out now and taken from Buffalo Daughter’s forthcoming new album ‘We Are The Times’ which is due out on 17th September. The album initially started out as an improv session but then became formed into its final shape later on.
