Adult Pop alternative indie pop Introducing... Pop Rock singer songwriter

Introducing… Ben Sefton

If Freddy Mercury and Rufus Wainwright had a cousin in 2022.

Ben Sefton launched his debut single in 2020, five years after graduating from a Contemporary Music and Tech Program. However, his teenage years and learning environments are the inspiration for his new single “Harrison”. The track starts off as a vocal montage before turning into an alt-rock anthem for a modern-day Queen fan. Its use of chorus vocals, organs, big cabaret drums and plenty of showy fanfare really reminds me of Freddy Mercury and Rufus Wainwright.

Alongside the single release is a music video taking Ben Sefton back to his school experiences. As a non-American, I just assume that every single child has school trauma somewhere along the line. Did anyone artistic enjoy school? There’s no word on any future EP or LP yet but I’m sure the rest of 2022 brings big things for Ben.
