Introducing… Slow Riot

Slow Riot, are an Irish post-punk trio and it’s taken me a while to decide quite what to think of them! This is their second single and I love how bass heavy the post rock element is but lead singer Niall has such a distinctive vocal delivery, I feel that it’s how you interpret his singing that determines how much you enjoy the band. He is deadpan, monotone and stays in the low register. It took a while for my ears to adjust – it works – but it will be divisive.

Their first EP is out 23rd October (Cathedrals) and the new single Demons has an excellent video which you can enjoy below.
