An expedition to create music on The Alps

Everyone’s favourite hang drum player Manu Delago (best known outside his solo work for working with Bjork) will be releasing a new album “Parasol Peak” which will also be available as a film too. Delago took seven musicians with him on an expedition to The Alps and then worked to create new songs at different altitudes. In what sounds like the best excuse for anyone who likes snow, climbing and skiing to create a concept album, the whole trips is filmed and will be available as a film too. The fact that it’s all recorded live on route sounds like a technical nightmare and marvel so I can’t wait to see how it was all done and what emotions were experienced along the way.

The title track “Parasol Peak” is available to listen to below. It’s a mesh of contemporary classical and European folk styles to me and makes me excited for what’s to come. Parasol Peak will be out on 7th September.
