Ben Conley has managed to say in 72 seconds something it took me months to say after one of my past relationships went tits up. That’s a technical term! ‘Thanks for Something’ is Ben’s garage rock salute to a relationship gone sour. Clearly, post break up, if you were dopey-eyed and bushy-tailed beforehand, you just want them out of your head. Over the course of this punk-tinged track, Conley moves from being amicable to just wanting to run the hell away from it all. It is cleverly done, catchy as hell and full-on furious too. I approve, get this into therapy sessions now.
To celebrate this gloriously, Ben Conley filmed a music video in the shower as he irons ties, eats breakfast and pairs up with a rubber duck. Ben says that ‘while life is hard, you can always find time to smile’. The rubber duck agrees…
Enjoy ‘Thanks for Something’ below. The single is out now.
