Reading have produced another excellent indie band in the shape of Mellor. The quartet are gearing up for their new EP this spring and ‘Lost in This World’ is the lead single from it. Mellor say they enjoy creating music that starts accessible but contains an element of chaos. For their new single, that chaos comes in the form of some mighty solos. What is quite shocking is that, due to the pandemic lockdown, the lead guitar was recorded on a phone! Let that be a lesson for all us DIY musicians – if there is a record function, you are in business!
Containing some great Britpop DNA, Mellor will be making waves when their new EP ‘Fragments of Imagination’ is released this spring. I am reminded a little of Supergrass with the slightly nasally vocal delivery and everyday man delivery. Mellor is a little heavier with the guitars though. Enjoy the single below, its out now.
