Introducing… Shadow Monster

Explosive rock duo bring energy to sadness.

If you enjoy some lo-fi rock that is all about the big guitars, huge chords, groovy drums and moody vocals – say hello to Shadow Monster. Duo Gillian (guitars and vocal) and John (drums) make so much noise between the pair of them, they don’t need anyone else. I love their energy with how distressed the guitars sound and how bouncy and explosive the drums are. Recent single ‘Kill Me Sweetie’ showcases Shadow Monster so well. It is like someone took a happy rock drum track and smashed it into a miserable and angry grunge track in a bedroom. Early Nirvana fans will love it.

‘Kill Me Sweetie’ comes from Shadow Monster’s most recent album ‘Punching Bag’ which came out in 2019. The music video for which come out a few weeks ago and is available to enjoy below. I wonder what those passers by were thinking? Woman with a bottle in a brown paper bag lurching around from rail to rail on a bridge? I’d have waited a few minutes before crossing!
