The Damn Devils say they intend their self entitled debut album will run the gambit of rock, metal and a splash of pop. I can’t hear any pop at all in their debut single ‘Gravedigger’ though – it is full-on 90’s heavy rock instead. Reminding me of Soundgarden but with a hint of Alice in Chains and Nirvana, the trio have plenty of heavy hooks on hand. I really dig their moody low driving melody mixed with bombastic solos. It is the kind of find you’d have joy discovering when MTV was actually good.
The Damn Devils don’t have a release date yet for their upcoming album but ‘Gravedigger’ is out now. The band have been writing music together since their teenage years so I’m expecting fireworks when the album is unleashed. Enjoy the music video below.
