Whilst I’m still dissecting Björk’s latest album ‘Fossora’ (I love it but haven’t decided how to write about it yet), I’ve found a new resource for all things Björk. Sonic Symbolism is a collection of podcasts full of interviews with Björk and her friends and collaborators. Each of her main albums has a dedicated episode that explores how Björk found the music, her sound, her muses and her voice. They are insightful from a creative perspective as well as a performative side too. 10 hours of gems? Sign me up. Lots of instrumental stems are used to break up the interviews too which brings new life to older songs.
Sonic Symbolism is available on various podcasting platforms and you can also listen in the browser using Podlink. Most episodes are out at the time of posting but the remaining episodes release every Thursday.
