Alt-Pop alternative electro pop electronic Introducing... synth

Introducing… Outside Is Void

Alt-pop that gracefully refuses to fall neatly into a simple genre box

Düsseldorf based artist Thomas Marcus is behind the new project Outside Is Void. The synth/electronic pop hybrid of music reminds me strongly of fellow electronica composer Adam Fielding. This is because we have plenty of guitars alongside all the synths and beats. Thomas’ voice has a soft punk twang too, so there is a definite alternative edge to the music. I think fans of bands like New Order and Depeche Mode will find a lot to enjoy here.

‘Far’ is the latest single that Outside Is Void has been teasing and it mixes all of the above together that gives it a rockier flair than previous releases. Add in some playful marimba synths, a guitar solo and a curious chord progression for the chorus and you have me entertained. Thomas says he aims to mix the analogue and digital when it comes to sound and ‘Far’ does that excellently.

Enjoy the music video below, the single (complete with club and computer bleep remixes) is out now. It is taken from the forthcoming album ‘Lightgazer’ which doesn’t have a release date just yet.
