TEll A ViSiON is the moniker of Fee Kürten, a German artist who has been through something of a creative rebirth. As a child, she created rap music but as she approaches her debut album as TEll A ViSiON, she has expanded her musical palette. Her new single ‘BUffERiNG’ is an idiosyncratic mix of trip-hop beats, disconnected synths and heavy dub bass whilst we get some alluring vocals covering the music. She reminds me somewhat of Olga Bell, a fellow electronic-drenched artist who doesn’t fit nicely into the usual genre tropes.
Readers of Higher Plain Music know I love an artist that refuses to stay in their genre box and TEll A ViSiON is certainly one of those. On her forthcoming self-titled debut album, she will bring along some rap but she’ll be mixing in new wave, post-punk and early hip-hop too. The album is scheduled for release on the 23rd of June.
