acoustic Ausa-Nova bossa nova indie folk Introducing... jazz Soul

Introducing… Adam Harpaz

Introducing the world to Ausa-Nova - Australian influenced costal bossa nova!

Today’s featured artist introduced me to an entirely new subgenre of music called Ausa-Nova. It’s Australian-influenced Bossa Nova and it’s the signature twist that Adam Harpaz adds to his brand of indie folk. Add in a splash of coastal soul and jazz too and you have plenty of elements to savour. I think fans of where Tash Sultana’s debut album took her will enjoy Adam’s music as it’s effortlessly cool, heartfelt and easy to enjoy.

Adam Harpaz’s latest single is ‘Rollercoaster’, a song about meeting someone who is perfectly alluring on the surface but total chaos underneath. There’s also a subtle commentary on how some use their looks to get ahead and how others don’t declare their intentions. The whole song has a coastal soulful vibe with lush, lazy guitars, Adam’s smooth vocals and a rich acoustic groove. This isn’t usually my go-to genre but there is an undeniable charm here that works. Whilst the single itself is standalone, Adam is currently recording and touring and so I expect an announcement of further singles or something more substantial to pop up later in 2023.

Enjoy the single ‘Rollercoaster’ below, it is out now. For more info on all things Adam Harpaz, visit his website.
