Composer Sam Hulick is perhaps best known for his work on the Mass Effect series alongside Boulders Gate and A Way Out. After several years is relative quiet, Sam has returned to original music with his new single ‘Flow State’. It’s the first track from his upcoming album ‘School of Thought’ and is built around sci-fi ambience. Expect tracks to be broody, melodic, twisting and somewhat arpeggiator-focused. Despite being restrained, the single has an elegant flow to it as a string arrangement joins the bubbling circles of synths that pick curiously away at your imagination.
Whilst no release date for the album has been announced, Sam Hulick will be releasing more singles ahead of it. The first 100 people to purchase ‘Flow State’ on Bandcamp get some additional wallpaper themes (sci-fi ones I expect). It is great to have the tense space dystopian beauty of Sam’s music back in our ears and minds again. For more info on all things Sam Hulick, visit his website. You can enjoy ‘Flow State’ below.
