Introducing… Yuuf

One of my favourite things about the world seemingly getting smaller these days is that instruments from different cultures can merge in new and interesting ways. Yuuf is a four-piece instrumental rock band with drums, guitar, bass, and hang drum. They wanted to create music that takes them away from their stressful London city life of stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. This is music to dream, reconnect, and flow to.

Sonically, Yuuf fall somewhere between the clean and kempt nature of yacht rock, but they are quite happy to jam out with psychedelic rhythms and effortlessly fluid and serene guitar and bass work, too. The band released their first EP ‘In The Sun’ last year and crossed the million streams mark at pace. With their new EP ‘Alma’s Cove’, the quartet look to deepen their global influences further into their music. The title track alone takes inspiration from Spanish guitars, Americana, and Joe Hisashi’s cosier Ghibli soundtracks. It is a beautiful melting pot to be explored.

Yuuf are currently touring the UK, and released their new single ‘Iman‘, which is a real slow burner for lazy Sunday walks in nature. I’ve chosen the sublime live performance of ‘Alma’s Cove’ as my personal favourite so far. Both tracks are out now, with the full EP launching on 20th June.
