Introducing… Bones Ate Arfa

Grunge Alt-Rock trio Bones Ate Arfa come from Brighton in the UK and have been busy playing live all over the country. They enjoy unleashing high-octane bursts of energy and noise, which sums up their new single ‘It’s All Good’ perfectly. Between the snarling, laser-cut guitars of the main riffs and the fuzzier, grungy choruses, I’m reminded a bit of 90s band Skeleton Key. Perhaps that’s because Arfa’s vocals have that made-for-grunge howl to them. It’s two and a half minutes of rock hedonism and weaves in plenty of punkier elements too, including some tape warp effects to close the track like a 2000s skater anthem.

Speaking about the single, bass and vocalist Arfa says:

It’s All Good is about how everything in the world seems so messed up, but you just carry on like everything’s ‘all good’. It’s introspective on realising our own privilege as well, like we’re out here doing what we love and playing shows all the time, even as a small band. And it’s like damn, we are so lucky to be able to do this.

We wanted to be able to channel the sound of some bands we’ve been getting more and more into recently too, like the 2000s skater sounds of Deftones, Slipknot, Rueben, Paramore and more modern bands of the same vein like South Arcade. All while staying true to our blown out bass tones and gritty production.

Whilst the single is out now, a music video will arrive next month featuring Shoreham Skatepark to bring the nostalgia up a notch. Bones Ate Arfa are playing across the UK between now and November. If you are in the UK and need some high-energy moshing, you can see their tour dates and grab tickets on Bands In Town.
