Personal Update – Content Resuming This Week

Across March, you’ll have noticed very few updates to Higher Plain Music. This is because of two things. Firstly, I’ve had a few health issues that are bubbling away. They will continue to bubble away for a few more months, but they are under control and shouldn’t impact future content updates often.

Secondly, I have had to, in all but name, reapply for my day job and support my team of 62 through what has been the most arduous and stressful process I’ve dealt with in my entire professional career to do the same. I’m less immediately concerned about the unknown outcomes of what may happen to us, that’s largely out of my control. The immediate concern has been the constant changing of goalposts and requirements, and the poor organisation of how it’s been done. I’ve spent the last four weeks working about 15 hours a day trying to support my team through the process, and that intensive period is coming to an end. Apparently, I will not have my current job, but I may be matched to something similar if I’m deemed talented enough. Ah, the joys of working life!

I should be back to posting your usual indie, alternative, and unusual hidden gems of music just like normal.

Thanks for your patience over these last few weeks.

I’m not sure what my day job future holds, and that may mean I’ll be a bit more upfront about how to support the Higher Plain Network as I look to transition into a self-employed business over time. I’ll be transparent about that process and journey, should I need to change things up.
