Button Masher shows you how to make Super Nintendo music

Award winning composer and chiptune artist Button Masher has been making fantastic music for years. Now Button Masher is diving into the inner workings of how to create SNES music. The extensive tutorial dives into how the Super Nintendo’s sound is created, VST plugins, and general composition. You watch and play along as the song comes to life and within 50 minutes, you will feel like you’ve learnt all kinds of new skills and creative processes.

Often these kind of tutorial is put behind a paywall so if any future chiptune or game music artists are looking to get started, this is an exceptional resource to start with. There is some technical jargon used throughout the tutorial but they are then accompanied with audio examples so you can pick up the tech talk as you watch. Button Masher also creates other musical tutorials alongside remixes and original works, so his YouTube channel and Bandcamp are great ways to give back. Enjoy the tutorial below.
