Approaching his 5th studio album, Voice of the Wind, it feels a bit naughty to be introducing him – but Trevor Green is new to me and I love spreading the word of heartfelt music with passion and soul.
Trevor’s music is heavily influenced by his Native American roots as he was adopted into a Navajo family. Since then he’s become an advocate for his people and creates some utterly gorgeous music that uses some traditional instruments but never really sits in the world music category. It feels wider and more expressive. I also love the way how he plays his guitar in his lap too and the fact he seems to play all the instruments if he wants to! Mega skills!
The title track is below and opens with spoken piece as part of the song. The album came out last month and I’ll be reviewing it in May.
