Ólafur Arnalds has been on a really intriguing project for his latest album Island Songs. He has been travelling and creating music with various collaborations across Iceland and he created and compiled 7 tracks in 7 weeks and then releasing the video for each once done. All seven tracks are fantastic but I was particularly taken aback by the simplicity and elegance of “Particles” which features Of Monsters and Men vocalist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir. The video is also really simple, revolving around them and the string players in a 360 circle for the duration of the track.
