Brother and sister bands tend to veer towards levels of cringe that put me off by being saccharine sweet or incredibly cheesy. Enter Phil and Lu whom buck the trend with melodic but grounded folk rock. Phil’s voice has a really interesting tone to his voice that you’d find in a more roots rock or huge rock band. The airy guitars are a lovely touch too.
