Sluka channels David Bowie for me in a few ways. In certain facial expressions he looks like him. His voice has a similar timber and quiver to it. His brand of rock is also quite all compassing. “Number One” is the single for his latest album and it starts off sweetish, then gets grungy and then ends all psychedelic with a brass band. Yet other tracks are more piano rock-based, others a mixture of everything – it’s Sluska’s voice and feeling that is the common thread that holds it all together.
