Heinali, whom I was introduced to with the absolutely stunning Bound game soundtrack, is returning with a new album and judging from the epic ten-minute single “Rainbow Folding”, we’re in for a luscious bleep-tastic time. Heinali is the alias of self-taught composer and sound designer Oleg Shpudeiko. His musical craft sits firmly in the abstract and experimental electronica space but what I love about Heinali’s style is that there’s always a flowing rhythm to his work. Here with “Rainbow Folding”, the jamming arpeggios are slowly spinning off their axis and into each other, speeding up and collapsing as they go. It’s beautiful and mesmerising and I absolutely love it as it slowly runs out of steam and grinds to a crawling drone.
The sing “Rainbow Folding” comes from the forthcoming album Iridescent which is due for release on 12th October. This sounds like being a must have for those who enjoy new age music, experimental electronica or music that gets you into a flow state of being. Enjoy the single below:
