‘Where on Earth can I find some decent Welsh speaking punk?’ is a phrase I clearly have never come across before. It’s a genre I never knew I needed until I came across Breichiau Hir. The Welsh emo’s met in 2008 and released their first EP after some handmade singles in 2015. Their new single, ‘Penblwydd Hapus Iwan’ is crammed full of angry visceral guitars, drums and the kind of emo vocals that enjoyed their heyday at the turn of the Millennium. It’s a potent mix.
This is the bands third single having signed to Libertino Records so I’d imagine an EP or album is in the pipeline. You can enjoy the single below, which is out now.
