Introducing… Delyn Grey

Battling depression through music

Alt-rock Toronto based Delyn Grey tackles mental health with her new single ‘Battle’. The track was taken from a huge depressive spell Delyn fell into when she was 17. Now at just 20, she is weilding a selection of songs written around this time for her EP ‘The Disappointment Girl’.

The lead single ‘Battle’ uses dark piano riffs and Grey’s powerful voice to channel the same energy as her influences. Delyn sites PJ Harvey, Nirvana and Jeff Buckley as her influences but her music is more of a mix of PJ Harvey, recent Tori Amos and Adele. I’m very intrigued to see where this all sits with her forthcoming EP but ‘Battle’ is available to listen to below.
