Four years since his last release, Belgian singer/songwriter and producer Nicolas Michaux has returned with a new single ahead of his forth-coming LP. Michaux’s gentle rock is steady and meditative in many ways and if I’m honest it wasn’t the music that drew me in initially – it was his voice. Nicolas has a voice that sounds timeless and classic. The way he can evoke so much from relatively little compared to a lot of other artists really made me appreciate a tightly woven melody. It also made me appreciate a voice that wanes and drifts off like a thought bubble.
Nicolas Michaux will be releasing his new LP later on this year but the lead single ‘Harvesters’ is out now. It has a suitably farm filled music video to accompany it. I’ll be starting to mine his back catalogue but in the meantime, enjoy the video below.
