Ryan Lee West, aka Rival Consoles, announced details of his highly anticipated new album ‘Articulation’ which comes out on Erased Tapes on the 31st of July. Rival Consoles is best associated with using all kinds of fun synths to create interesting abstract compositions. Ryan references a piece of work from avant-garde contemporary composer Györgi Ligeti which isn’t music but a graphical drawing. The idea is that because ‘Articulation’ – both the album and the title track – were conceived visually. Ryan says that often electronic music is bogged down by its own production and so by basing music, time signatures and effects that are based from ‘analogue art’ – there can be a bit more soul in the music he creates.
The title track is the main centrepiece of the six track album and is available to enjoy below. It sounds like it is going to be a great new album that will fit perfectly with Rival Consoles last two albums ‘Night Melody’ and ‘Persona’. ‘Articulation’ is available to pre-order.
