Fancy being a guitar virtuoso and having a voice that glides like a caress too? Welcome to the stage Jon Gomm who plays acoustic guitar quite unlike anyone else I’ve seen for some time. He uses his guitar as a drum whilst he plays but also uses the tuning wheels as part of his melodies and plucks the strings all over the place. Jon is mesmerising to watch in a way that struck me when I discovered Tash Sultana although the vibes are very different.
Jon Gomm has been making music since 2003 as an independent artist but has now just signed to Kscope and will hopefully be releasing his first record-backed album soon. In the meantime, please enjoy this live recording of his track ‘Passionflower’ below and if you dig that, dive into his back catalogue. That is what I’ll be doing this weekend! He will also be performing a live stream concert to celebrate the signing on the 14th of June.
