Introducing… Estère

Taking on archetypes for her new album

Estère hails from New Zealand and brings with her their effortlessly artistic singer-songwriter vibes that you often hear in their rock scene. Likened to St Vincent and Little Dragon at times, Estère’s new single ‘Mad About Your Sea’ is a bluesy synth ballad that I think fans of Oh Land, Sia and Massive Attack fans will love. The last inclusion there is a purposeful one as Estère’s upcoming third album ‘Archetypes’ was made in collaboration with Massive Attack producer Stew Jackson. He fell for Estère’s songwriting and vocal abilities in 2019 and jumped at the chance to work together.

‘Mad About Your Sea’ is the second single from the album, which is due for release on the 21st January 2021. It looks set to provide RnB rhythms, powerful vocals and plenty of lyrical layers to unpack. Enjoy the single below and catch up on Estère’s back catalogue whilst you wait.
