Bomba Estéreo are already well known in Columbia and teaming up with fellow Columbian Lido Pimienta and Afro-Cuban duo Okan, we have a South American inspired powerhouse of music. Bomba Estéreo’s new track ‘Agua’ is a flavour for what they have to offer from their new album ‘Deja’ – their first in four years. The album is split into the four Earth elements, Agua (water), Aire (air), Tierra (earth) and Fuego (fire). The album will also focus on themes of human connection and disconnection from the world around them. It sounds like a concept album I can get behind and dance my slippers off to whilst we are locked away too.
This idea cues up the lush and vibrant music video for ‘Agua’ below. A ritual takes place allowing the subject to enter a parallel world where we are more deeply connected with nature. Already known for their culture blending beats and rhythms, Bomba Estéreo’s ‘Deja’ is due out this Spring. Enjoy the music video below.
