Based in Vancouver, The Long War is a quintet indie rock group. Mashing together big guitars, bold synths, chunky drums and anthemic vocal hooks, The Long War are in it for the long haul. The five musicians banded together, unified by the love of making music and a hard work ethic that they hope will pay off. On the evidence of their new single ‘Robot Heart’, their songcraft isn’t in doubt. It perfectly straddles indie pop and indie rock. The track was inspired by being stuck in the same spot over quarantine and the days becoming a mechanical routine. It is a would-be radio hit in waiting.
The band formed in 2016, with their debut album ‘Landscapes’ coming two years later. They are currently preparing their second album ‘Under A Heavy Sky’, from which ‘Robot Heart’ is a single from. It sounds like we’ve got a summer stormer waiting for us when the album is ready for release. Enjoy the single below. The Long War has won me over at least, lets hope they continue winning battles going forward.
