Camille released a video today doing exactly what Camille does best – performing a strangely emotive and exquisite vocal piece. ‘LALA de la journée de la femme’ literally means ‘of Woman’s Day’ and the song literally repeats the phrase over and over with a collection of other vocalists joining her on the hills.
It is a simple but effective way to show the strength, courage, struggle and empathy of Women around the globe and a timely reminder of Camille’s unique vocal talents. She has also posted some footage of vocal workshops under the ‘LALA’ name too so clearly she been on singing workshops with words of that day, simply with the people who she is with. It looks like a fun improvisational workshop and grown-up music and movement art. It has been three years since her last album ‘Oui’ so maybe LALA will be the genesis of a new album.
Enjoy ‘de la journée de la femme’ below.
