vgmtogether is a brand new three-day event that is going to shine a light on game music… and it is taking place this weekend! From March 12th-14th, vgmtogether will be hosting live performances of some of your favourite game music composers and remixers. Alongside these performances will be panels about different community aspects and even a separate space for some gaming to take place too.
The event itself will be hosted over several Twitch channels, one dedicated to music and one for panels and as someone who has missed gaming and geeky conventions – this is an event I am very much looking forward to.
On the musician list, there are a few names I’m personally excited to see play. Smart Game Piano, chibi-tech, Jillian Aversa, Darren Korb, Ashley Barrett, Mark ‘TKD’ Knight, String Player Gamer and Ben Briggs are musicians I’m already big fans of and since all three days are jammed full of performances, I expect to fall for a few new melody makers too. Kicking things off in style will be the Baltimore Gamer Symphony Orchestra. Panels offer a range of topics from game music as sound therapy (agree on that), streaming as a musician, through to copyright and genre tips and walkthroughs. I spotted a VGM quiz in there too.
The whole thing is free and looks absolutely superb. To sign up and enjoy the show visit vgmtogether to find out more details. Enjoy a trailer for the event below. I’ll be hanging around the event in chat as HigherPlainGames so say hello.
