Introducing… Jordan Klassen

Time to have all of the feels.

I’ve been meaning to introduce you all to Jordan Klassen for a few years now. The Canadian singer-songwriter places himself firmly in folk and baroque pop genres of music and never fails to wow. The beauty of what Jordan puts together is in the little details as he rarely needs to wail or shout. He is at his best when things are at a hushed tone and its just the guitar, piano, drums and strings at his disposal. Nowhere is that more apparent than on his latest album ‘Tell Me What To Do’, which came out in May last year. It is crammed full of songs to make you cry or feel quietly uplifted and often both.

Jordan Klassen has just released a music video for the closing track on the album called ‘Golden Ladder’ and it is absolutely stunning. It isn’t often you get music videos that really hit home emotionally but this one does. It shows a mother and child slowly swapping roles over the course of their lives. The daughter once cared for, is now the caregiver. When paired with Jordan’s paired back ballad – it will give you all the feels. It is easily in the top music videos I’ve seen this year, is not across the 2020s so far. I highly recommend it.

Enjoy ‘Golden Ladder’ from Jordan Klassen below. The album ‘Tell Me What To Do’ is out now.
