Three solo albums and twenty years of music playing under his belt, Hank (!), the name of performer Hank Close, returns with a new single and album. Falling firmly in the singer-songwriter rock category, Hank (!) writes music to speak about his different coping strategies for anxiety. His new single ‘Lady St’ is specifically about his college days. Other songs on his forthcoming album ‘Guilty Pleasures (are the best ones)’ talk about anxiety abroad, on the road and the death of his dog. They aren’t necessarily all sombre tracks – they have real oomph to them – but it’s an album that has a great concept behind it. It’s also significantly different to his previous music which seems to follow a jazzier guitar format or placing guitars into other genres of music.
Enjoy the track ‘Lady St’ below, it is out now. Hank (!)’s album ‘Guilty Pleasures (are the best ones)’ is due for release on the 15th of October. You can follow the album’s release over on Bandcamp.
