In what is easily one of the most captivating singles I’ve heard in 2021, QUINQUIS (aka Émilie Tiersen) has previously released two albums under the name Tiny Feet. This new guise as QUINQUIS sets her up as a dramatic and cinematic alt-synth electronica performer. Composer, performer and singer, her first single ‘ADKROG’ is a dense and cryptic track. Full of heavy synths and haunting Breton vocals, the whole vibe QUINQUIS has gone for is ‘creepy sci-fi’. I absolutely love the track and hope that this is a signal of the level of tension, anxiety and drama that the forthcoming material in 2022 will bring.
The accompany ‘ADKROG’, an equally atmospheric music video has been released and you can watch it below, getting synth envy at the same time.
