Swiss indie rock band Phoam merge together their love of synths, guitars, beats and high drama. Reminding me of some of my favourite bands of recent years like Sylvette, Clock Opera and Duologue, Phoam places their piano central to their indie rock. Interestingly, Phoam says that their music is all about build-up and severance. Indeed, when listening to their music, their songs often escalate up from murmurs to a dramatic focal point of charged guitars and vocals.
Whilst their new single is “Tear the Blinds”, I wanted to highlight this live performance of “We Collide” from last month. It showcases everything I clicked with and Phoam clearly has a powerful live show. Enjoy the performance below.
