Adult Pop chamber pop indie pop Introducing... Pop Rock singer songwriter

Introducing… Sophia Fracassi

Canadian singer-songwriter writing about finding her way into adulthood.

At just the age of 18, Canadian Sophia Fracassi is making waves already. Her new single “I Lied” is a wonderfully honest and raw pop-rock track that captures the intensity of first loves and self-assurance. Sophia has spent her life to date dedicated to the arts and her singer-songwriter style reminds me a little of early Vanessa Carlton in that there is a wide-eyed purity to the drama. On speaking about the song itself, Sophia said that it is about finding your own way. Trial and error is part of life and part of growing up. “It’s okay not to know what to do next, it’s okay not to be sure who to trust, or if you can even fully trust yourself.” What I took away from the song was just how mature and confident Sophia sounds. She’s released a few singles previously but this feels like a style that could be her own if she wants it.

“I Lied” is catchy as hell as I could see it becoming a real sleeper hit and launching a lot of summer car rides and coming of age moments. It just fits that vibe so well and the vocal hook is strong and catchy. Enjoy the music video for it below, the single is out now. To find out more about Sophia Fracassi, visit her website.
