“Let Go” is the new single from Blue Luminaire. When I first heard it, I was immediately awestruck by how fluid and sensitive the lead vocal is. It also has a lot of unconventional chords and arrangements for what you’d ordinarily expect from a single, yet that captivated me more. The song is over in just over two minutes and yet I feel like I’ve entered a meditative and fragile world and experienced so much in the tiniest of details. Plus, I see and hear a harpsichord – I’m in!
Blue Luminaire is a project from Copenhagen-based Nick Martin. Nick’s previous releases had placed Nick in the role of composing and directing and “Let Go” marks Nick stepping forward as a performer too. Alongside this, Blue Luminaire announced their debut album “Terroir” will be due for release on the 12th of August on their new album Bella Union, so its celebrations all round. Speaking about the album, Nick says “Terroir is the result of leaning into vulnerability in search of self-compassion and growth.” It’s an album about healing and getting things off your chest.
Enjoy the beautiful “Let Go” below. You can pre-order the album now. Expect more intimate and delicate pieces of unusual classically tinged chamber music that doesn’t follow the grain.
