indie indie pop Introducing... Pop Rock singer songwriter

Introducing… Grimson

Tender ballads of lost crushes from the subways of Berlin.

Berlin based Grimson is an indie-pop artist who usually loves to place animation into his music videos. For his beautifully tender acoustic ballad “Set Gently”, Grimson went in a different direction. Instead, he rode the elevators of Berlin playing his guitar whilst watching the world go by as he recounts love lost. The genesis of the song isn’t specifically his though. Aiden Berglund, the man behind the moniker, posted a snippet of the song in progress on TikTok and asked listeners to send him stories of crushes they’d had. All of those stories helped finish off the track.

“Set Gently” has a delicacy to it with fingered guitar and gentle pads swirling underneath. Whilst Grimson was inspired by Elliott Smith, vocally I can hear a little Marc Bolan here too. Usually, Grimson’s music fits into the more full band effort with piano and guitar led melodies. If you prefer something more uptempo, his previous single “Household” is excellent too. Enjoy the track below – the single is out now. There isn’t currently news of an EP or LP in the works but Grimson is counting up the singles now so shouldn’t be too far away!
